Calling all able-bodied Pirates! All hands are needed on deck this morning at the Macks Creek Park. Yesterday's installation of upright columns went well. Help from adult/teen volunteers is needed today (beginning at 8 AM) to attach equipment to build our playground. A professional installer is on-site to direct the work. Please consider helping if you are able - "many hands makes light work". Thank you! #MCPirates

Playground
Amazing things are happening at the Macks Creek Park! Our park board has purchased over $60,000 of incredible playground equipment. Now that the equipment is on-site and the dirt-work is complete, the board has scheduled a professional to supervise the installation. Volunteer adults and teens are invited to help this Saturday, March 16, at 8 AM. Groups of volunteers will simultaneously attach equipment to dozens of vertical columns that will be installed tomorrow. Please come and help make our park great this Saturday if you are able. The goal is to have the playground ready for the 1st Annual Macks Creek Park Easter Egg Hunt on March 30th. Thank you! #MCPirates

Three Macks Creek students attending the Lake Career and Technology Center showed off skills this evening. Karlie Gilbert, who is enrolled in Automotive Mechanics, taught how to change transmission fluid. Sean Green and Addison Ratliff are both enrolled in the Criminal Justice program. Sean gave Dr. Phillips a practical demonstration of effective handcuffing. Addie modeled the use of UV radiation to detect fluids not visible in normal light. Macks Creek is proud of all our students studying at LCTC and appreciated the opportunity to see a few of them in action at tonight's open house! #MCPirates
