Congratulations to the Lady Pirates who ran well at the Class 1 District 2 meet this morning in El Dorado Springs. Allie Sanchez led the team and advanced to STATE!!! Kaelee, Kelsey, Izzy and Bailey all ran well and finished up a great season! Thank you Lady Pirates for your hard work and dedication! Congratulations to senior Bailey Allan who ran the final meet of her Cross Country career this morning in El Dorado Springs. Bailey is the daughter of Chris and Erica Allan. She has participated in cross-country for 4 years, cheer for 3, track for 2, choir for 2, National Honor Society for 2, and Pep Club for 1. After high school, Bailey plans on becoming an RN, and then becoming a CRNA. Her favorite high school memory was the times spent with her friends. Her favorite Cross Country memory was her first sub-30, last year at the Humansville Meet. She will never forget her track coach Becky saying, “Life is hard, get a helmet.” Some advice Bailey has for younger athletes is, “ Cross Country is a mentally challenging sport; if you keep up a good attitude and try to enjoy what you are doing, you can do great things.” Her favorite quote is, “Doubting yourself is normal; letting it stop you is a choice.” -Mel Robbins Thank you Bailey for your hard work, dedication and perseverance as a 4 - year Varsity XC runner. Macks Creek students interested in a career in the Medical Assistant field checked out the State Fair Community College Medical Assisting Program today in Sedalia. Eva, Ava, Sarianna, Alyana and Morgan learned more about SFCC's hands-on clinical and administrative training designed to meet certification requirements. #MCPirates

Congratulations to Macks Creek Juniors Alexis Eversole and Tate Boothe for being selected as the LCTC October Students of the Month! Instructors shared the following about both students: Alexis Eversole "She is currently in both my one-hour and two-hour classes. She is also already working at Lake Regional and often brings her work experiences into our class conversations. Alexis comes to class five days a week and works 12-hour overnight shifts on the weekends, which shows how hard she works and how dedicated she is. She is one of the quietest students in class, but she is always paying attention, listening to instructions, and willing to answer questions when asked. She is also always willing to help with whatever I need. Alexis has big dreams, and I am excited to see her work toward them. She is a hardworking, dependable, and kind student, and we are very lucky to have her here." - Mrs. Dunkeson Tate Boothe "Tate Boothe has started this year off with a bang! He is the student and worker that all teachers and employers are excited to have in their class and on the jobsite. He has a great attitude and he anticipates the next step without being nudged to do so. He works well with others and if he doesn't understand the application he will ask. It's a B-E-A-UTIFUL day for a run! Macks Creek is hosting the PCL XC Championships this afternoon at Ballparks National! The high school and middle school will be competing against other PCL schools for bragging rights on the course! Athletes will be dismissed at 2:15 p.m. to get ready and will head out to the facility at 2:30. The races will be run in the following order:

MS Boys/Girls PCL Championship 2-Mile Run - 3:30 p.m.
HS Girls PCL Championship 5K - 4:00 p.m.
HS Boys PCL Championship 5K - 4:45 p.m.

Senior Night & Awards Ceremony will begin upon completion of the HS boys' race. All Senior XC runners in the PCL will be recognized before proceeding with Conference Medals (Top 10 finishers in each race), as well as recognition and presentation of plaques to each PCL Championship Team.

Come on out, support our Pirate and Lady Pirate runners, and enjoy the wonderful weather!
