The FBLA LifeSmarts team climbed closer to the top today in competitions. Tomorrow's rounds will determine the sweet 16 out of 47 teams across the nation! They finished the evening at the Mission Beach Boardwalk.
The MC Track team made the most of a large school meet this afternoon in Waynesville. Lady Pirate Jessica Weyhersmueller ran hard in the mile. On the Pirate side, Kevin Bowman ran well in the 100 and 400. Kevin posted a PR of 1:01 in the 400! Jose Cortez ran well in the 110m and 300m hurdles taking 5th place in both. Caleb Phillips had season PR's in both the 800 (2:07.19) and 1600 (4:43.16). Great racing team! Caleb took 3rd in the mile and 9th in the 800. Our track athletes will be back in action on Tuesday and the SBU Invitational in Bolivar. #MCPirates
The MS Track & Field team performed well at this evening's meet at School of the Osage. Weston Martineau and Sebastian Sanchez to 1st and 2nd in the 100m dash respectively. Carter Ferrell took 4th in both the 800m and 1600m. The duo of Weston and Sebastian took 1st and 2nd in the 200 respectively. Sebastian took 2nd in the Triple Jump and Weston took 3rd in the shot put. The 4x100 meter relay team of Parker Christian, Michael Egan, Sebastian and Weston took 2nd place. Macks Creek baseball traveled to Osage this evening just ahead of the weather for a tilt on the ball diamond. It was the Indians that jumped to an 11-0 lead after the first inning. The Pirates settled in and battled but fell 15-5 to their hosts in five innings. #MCPirates

Next week the Book Fair will be coming to Macks Creek! This Book Fair is also a 'Buy One, Get One' event and will run from April 23 - 30.
The Elementary is also still doing their Coin Drive! Don't forget to send in your loose change, which helps raise funds to purchase new books for the library. The top two classes will win a pizza party! If a class is able to raise $150 one lucky student will get to pie their teacher!

Our trio of senior Track athletes ran well at the Osage Invite this evening. Caleb Phillips grabbed a pair of Gold medals with two 1st Place finishes in the 1600 (4:47) and 800 (2:08). Jose Cortez took 4th in 110m hurdles with a PR of 16.52. He took 2nd in the 300m hurdles with another PR of 42.93. Our lone Lady Pirate, Jessica Weyhersmueller ran hard in the 100m dash and the mile. Great job team! These runners will be back in action this Friday at Waynesville. The Middle School Track team had a productive evening at a crowded Buffalo Invitational. Our lone Lady Pirate, Jessica Willey took 4th Place with a PR in the 400 meter (1:16.27). In the shot put Weston Martineau threw a PR and took 3rd (11.19m) and Michael Egan took 7th (9.27m). Sebastian Sanchez took 5th with a PR in the Triple Jump (9.75m). In the 100m Dash, Weston took 1st place (12.32m) and Sebastian took 6th (13.40). Carter Ferrell ran hard in the mile to grab 4th with a PR of 5:29. The boys 4x100 team of Parker Christian, Weston, Sebastian and Michael ran a 51.53 and took 2nd. In the long jump, Michael took 6th and Parker took 9th. In the 400 meter Sebastian took 5th and Carter took 9th. Lastly, Carter and Parker ran PR's in the 800m. Carter took 5th (2:35) and Parker 6th (2:45). Great job tonight middle school athletes - we are proud of all your hard work 💪 and the gains you are making! #MCPirates
End of the Year State Testing starts next week on Tuesday April 23rd - May 3rd Grades 3-12 MAP / EOC testing. Please make sure your students get plenty of sleep and eat a good breakfast. Thank you for your support!

A trio of Macks Creek Seniors represented the Pirates at this evening's Laker Relays. This large school meet pits our athletes against some solid competition. Our lone Lady Pirate, Jessica Weyhersmueller ran hard in the 100, 400 and 1600. Despite windy conditions, she nearly matched her PR in the mile and took 10th place. Jose Cortez, in his first meet of the season, dusted off some cobwebs since he ran last spring with a 6th place finish in the 110 meter hurdles. However it was his 2nd place in the 300 meter hurdles (breaking his PR from last year as well as the school record with a 43.60) that shows he is ready to compete again this season. Great job Jose and welcome back! Caleb Phillips had an ambitious evening, hoping to make the most of some great competition. Caleb took 1st place in the 1600, 3rd place in the 800 and 4th place in the 3200. Great job tonight Jessica, Jose and Caleb! We are proud of our hardworking seniors! The Pirates will be back in action Tuesday at School of the Osage. #MCPirates
