It's a busy week for Macks Creek athletics and activities!

Our Pirates and Lady Pirates have a full schedule this week, with postseason play, competitions, events, and club meetings!

The MS Pirates and Lady Pirates are heading into postseason play at the PCL Tournament in Dadeville! The Lady Pirates take on the host Lady Bearcats tonight at 6:00 p.m., while the boys open tournament play Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. against the Walnut Grove MS Tigers. Good luck to both teams!

Our Cross Country runners hit the course today at the Dixon XC Invitational. Best of luck to our Pirate and Lady Pirate runners!

Macks Creek's FCA chapter is hosting their Fields of Faith on Wednesday from 4:30-8:00 p.m. at Ballparks National.

Softball begins its postseason run at Richland on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. against the third-seeded Stoutland Lady Tigers. Good luck, ladies!

Art Club's weekly meetings are this Monday and Tuesday from 3:20-5:00 p.m. in the Art Room.

Speech and Debate has their practices on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:20-5:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Other info: Joining speech and debate looks great for scholarships, college applications and also helps build skills such as critical thinking and public speaking.

The Lady Pirates XC team of Senior Bailey Allan, Juniors Izzy Willey and Kaelee Keehler, and Freshman Kelsie George and Alejandra Sanchez raced well at this morning's Capital City Invitational at Binder Park. Led by Alejandra, (who took 15th), our team finished 4th! Coach Ratliff was proud of the girls' effort as they battled the hilliest course the Lady Pirates will see all season. Our team continues to build experience and work toward their goals as the season progresses. Each race provides an opportunity for the team to improve, compete together, and represent MCHS with pride. Our team will be back in action this Monday afternoon at the Dixon Invitational, held at the golf course in Dixon, MO. The Lady Pirates look to carry their momentum into Dixon as they gear up for the PCL Conference Championships on October 20th. Great job today Lady Pirates! #MCPirates

The Macks Creek High School boys cross country team continued its season with a strong effort at today’s Capital City Invitational, highlighted by seven Pirates finishing the race and Carter Ferrell leading the way for Macks Creek with an impressive sixth-place finish. Coach Ratliff shared "everyone's performance was outstanding considering this was the hilliest course the Pirates will see all season"! The Pirates combined efforts resulted in a 5th place team finish at today's meet. Ferrell, a junior, crossed the finish line in 18:04.29, earning a top-10 finish and setting the pace for the Pirates. Freshman Karsyn Jensen followed with a 25th-place finish in 19:32.46, showing continued determination against a competitive field. Jason Bryant, a freshman, finished 32nd with a time of 21:21.53, followed by junior Sebastian Sanchez, who placed 33rd in 21:37.70. Junior Fisher Wiethop crossed the line in 34th place with a time of 21:48.13. Mason Breshears, a sophomore, finished 36th in 22:01.32, while junior Parker Christian rounded out the Macks Creek runners with a 37th-place finish in 22:06.46. The Pirates continue to build experience and work toward their goals as the season progresses. Each race provides an opportunity for the team to improve, compete together, and represent Macks Creek High School with pride. Macks Creek will be back in action this Monday afternoon at the Dixon Invitational, held at the golf course in Dixon, MO.
