Softball practice will be from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday and then 2:30 p.m - 4:30 p.m. the rest of the week.
Junior High Cross Country will have the following schedule: Monday - Friday 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. Please meet by the pre-school playground behind the school building.
Junior High Cheer practice will run from 4:30-6:00 starting on August 15th next week.
Girls JH Basketball practices 3:30-5:30 next week.
Boys JH Basketball practices 5:30-7:30.
On Monday the boys will have a parent meeting at 5:00 before they practice.

The annual Camden County Child Advocacy Council Back-to-School Fair will be held Friday, August 5th. The event will be from 11AM to 3PM in the Camdenton High School Commons area. The event is open to any students in grades pre-K through 12 to obtain school supplies as well as gift cards for socks and underwear. #MCPirates
As a friendly reminder, dead period week for all activities and sports will begin July 30th and run until August 7th. The first allowable practice for fall sports will be able to take place on Monday, August 8th. Please keep in mind the heat-acclimation and the breaks for water. #MCPirates

The Camden County Child Advocacy Council will host its annual back-to-school fair Friday, August 5 from 11 AM - 3PM at Camdenton High School to provide school supplies for anyone who has a need. NOTE: Our PTO is graciously purchasing supplies again this year, but NOT the items on the supply list. We will send out the MS/HS supply list early next week. Lastly, back-to-school purchases, such as clothing, school supplies, computers, and other items are exempt from sales tax during the Sales Tax Holiday which begins at 12:01 a.m. August 5, and runs through Sunday, August 7. The junior high girls basketball team had a very good and productive summer. The team consisted of five 8th graders, four 7th graders and one 6th grader. Our ladies started out the summer going 3-3, then won 13 of their next 15 games to finish 16-5 during the summer campaign. They finished 3rd in the tough sonic shootout in Bolivar losing only to 5A Bolivar in 4 overtimes and then to conference foe Walnut Grove by 3. Wins over the next 10 games included 3A power El Dorado Springs, Warsaw, Osceola, Diamond and several conference teams. All signs point to a showdown with Walnut Grove for the conference championship this coming fall. Great job team! #MCPirates
The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline has arrived in Missouri. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Missouri Department of Mental Health, there is tremendous need for 988 services in Missouri:
1. Suicide is among the top 3 leading causes of death in Missouri for ages 10-34. 2. Approximately one in five Missourians above the age of 18 has a mental health condition. 3. Approximately 377,000 of Missourians age 12+ (or 7.4 percent) live with a substance use disorder. 4. Prior to the pandemic in 2019, 8.5% of adults in Missouri reported an unmet need for mental health treatment in the past year.
Behind each of these data points, there are people, families and communities who have been impacted. Yet, in the face of these urgent realities, there is hope. On July 16, 2022, Missouri joined the rest of the United States in beginning to use the 988 dialing code. 988 will be the new three-digit number for call (multiple languages), text or chat (English only) that connects people to the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, where compassionate, accessible care and support are available for anyone experiencing mental health–related distress. The chat feature will be available through the Lifeline’s website. People can use 988 if they are having thoughts of suicide, mental health or substance use crises, or any other kind of emotional distress. Skyline with Macks Creek Football July Update and August Giveaway Information
As the month of July begins to come to a close the Macks Creek Pirates and Skyline Tigers are finishing up their summer workouts. The boys started camp and have started wearing helmets and shoulder pads. The Pirates got their first taste of contact football to go along with the hot, July summer mornings. They continued their morning practices and workouts, but also added in a youth and kids football camp this last week. Next Thursday and Friday (July 28-29) they will be traveling to Evangel University in Springfield to football camp, where they will be scrimmaging other teams. The two schools have united into one team and have made huge progress in the summer months and are now beginning their final preparation for their first game at home on August 26 against Agape High School.
