Today's Boys' District Meet Summary - The 4 x 800 meter team of Jose Cortez, Sigfredo Seguarra, Vaughn Vasquez and Caleb Phillips took 5th. The 4 x 400 team of Kyler Gabriel, Jose, Obediah Tower and Caleb took 4th. Individually Caleb took 3rd in 1600 meter and 2nd in the 3200. Jose took 4th in 110 meter hurdles and 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles. Kyler took 3rd in the 200 meter dash. Senior Morgan Mitchell took 5th in the shot put, 15th in the Javelin and 6th in the Discus. Senior Obediah took 3rd in the 110 hurdles, 4th in the 300 hurdles and 18th in the Javelin. Sigfredo took 14th in the 400 meter dash. Vaughn took 12th in the 800 meter run and 10th in the 1600. Out of 17 teams, the seven Pirates who competed today took 7th as a team. Today's Girls' District Meet Summary: Senior Adriana Mayer took 3rd in 100 meter dash, 2nd in the 200 meter dash, and 2nd in the 400 meter. Brooklyn Duggan took 2nd in the 100 meter hurdles, 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles and 4th in the High Jump. Cameron Kates took 13th in shot put, 16th in the discus and 12th in the Javelin. Senior Molly Phillips took 3rd in the 800 meter run, 2nd in the 1600 and 1st in the 3200 and 3rd in the Long Jump. Great job ladies! Each athlete who placed 4th or better advances to next week's Sectional at College of the Ozarks in Hollister. Of 17 teams at Districts today, the 4 Lady Pirates who competed, finished 4th as a team. The MCHS Track & Field Teams are competing in the Class 1 District 7 Meet today at Skyline High School. Second and third grade enjoyed a pizza party and water activities on their field trip to Ha Ha Tonka today. Students had a “blast” soaking each other with water cannons. Those that preferred to stay dry enjoyed hiking, blowing bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and a variety of yard games. Students said they enjoyed the trip because there was PIZZA, they got wet and they could spray teachers if they left the safety of the pavilion! #MCPirates

He received the Metal Fab/Bldg Trades Outstanding Student Award, along with a $250 gift for participating in the Elegant Evening Presentation for a minimum of two years.
