Macks Creek School has received notification that an additional student has tested positive for COVID-19. In cooperation with the health department, we have completed contact tracing and notified all close contacts. Please note, the remainder of this message is different from past notifications. This most recent case brings our yearly student total to 4 (3 of which are presently active). Our teachers continue to maintain strict seating charts and encourage students to maintain social distancing as much as possible in grades preschool through 12. These seating charts, together with staggered passing times, compartmentalization of groups, eating meals within classrooms and other practices promote social distancing and make it easier to determine close contacts. Thank you for closely monitoring your children's health and visiting with your children regarding the importance of social distancing whenever possible including outside the school day. Our faculty and staff are diligently implementing our COVID-19 Reopening Plan with the goal of keeping everyone safe and learning. We will continue to closely monitor attendance and other local health considerations and continue to provide you with as much information as we are able. Please have a plan in place should an outbreak of cases trigger a switch for segments or all of our school to pivot to distance learning. Dear School Community,
Macks Creek School has received notification that two students have tested positive for COVID-19. At this juncture, we have completed contact tracing and notified all close contacts. Each time there is contact tracing connected to one of our students or staff members, some of them may be directed to quarantine at home. Individual students on quarantine will continue their education in accordance with our distance learning plan.
Our faculty and staff have been working diligently to implement our COVID-19 Reopening Plan every single day which includes thoroughly sanitizing our campus and school buses. Please note, attendance and other local health considerations are being closely monitored and could trigger a pivot to distance learning for segments or all of our district. We will continue to provide you with as much information as we are able.
Our priority is to keep students and staff safe, healthy, and in school as much as possible. As such, we continue to coordinate with the local health department updating and making adjustments as necessary. Thank you for all you are doing to partner with us during these difficult times.
