Car wrecks are the number one reason children perish in the United States each year. To increase awareness, Child Passenger Safety Week is scheduled for the State of Missouri from Sept. 19th-25th. This is law enforcement campaign is designed to help reduce highway fatalities and serious injuries in children. During this week officers throughout Missouri will be extra vigilant in seeking out child safety seat law violators. Is your child's safety seat in compliance with state law?
Missouri law requires all children under the age of 8 to be in an appropriate child safety seat or booster seat unless they are 80 lbs or 4’9” tall. The proper use of a booster seat can reduce the risk of serious injury by 45 percent for children aged 4-8 years when compared with a standard seat belt by itself. Use of proper child safety seats provides children with the greatest opportunity to survive a crash. The home JH Girls and Boys Basketball game against Hermitage tomorrow night has now been slated to be played in Hermitage due to our gym floor being sealed. Girls will start @ 5:00 PM and the Boys will follow. Only 2 games will be played. #MCPirates

The Macks Creek Pirates Cross Country team raced this morning in Bolivar at the SWCCCA Richard Clark Invitational. Sophomores Jose Cortez, Kyler Gabriel and Caleb Phillips all competed. Caleb placed 7th, Jose took 21st and Kyler finished 37th. Medals were awared to the top 25 racers in each division. Great job at your first meet Pirates! #MCPirates
The Lady Pirates competed in their first meet of the season this morning at the SWCCCA Richard Clark Invitational in Bolivar. Madalyn Kinney, Adriana Mayer, Molly Phillips and Taylor Rich all raced. In Class 1A, Molly finished 11th, Adriana took 14th, Taylor placed 24th and Madalyn took 26th. Medals were awared to the top 25 racers in each division.
