Macks Creek School hosted the PCL Conference Cross Country Championships on Tuesday. It was great weather for racing and the Pirates and Lady Pirates made the most of the opportunity. Several of our athletes earned a spot on the 1st Team All-Conference PCL Cross Country Team by finishing in the top 10. The meet consisted of 3 races: MS Boys and Girls, Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys. Here are the breakdowns of each race:
High School Boys

The Pirates had three runners earn All-Conference honors. Carter Ferrell captured 1st place and earned the title of PCL Conference Champion! Karsyn Jensen finished 6th and Jason Bryant placed 10th. Congratulations to these outstanding runners! Parker Christian, Sebastian Sanchez, Michael Egan, Fisher Wiethop and Mason Breashears also represented the Pirates well with strong performances. Their combined efforts helped the Pirates secure second place in the team standings.
High School Girls

Allie Sanchez led the Lady Pirates with an impressive 6th-place finish, earning All-Conference honors. Bailey Allan, Izzy Willey, Kaelee Keehler, and Kelsie George also competed hard and finished strong, helping the Lady Pirates earn third place in the team standings.
Middle School Boys

Roper Parrack earned All-Conference recognition with an outstanding 2nd-place finish for the Pirates. Cooper Stoufer, Tucker Boothe, Ethan Trusty, Fletcher Wiethop, and Taegon Stoner also took on the challenge and successfully completed their races.
Middle School Girls

The Lady Pirates had two All-Conference finishers, with Tynlee Boothe placing 3rd and Brooklyn Jensen finishing 6th. Congratulations to both runners! Kimber Hash and Braydlinn Bishop also competed and finished strong for the Lady Pirates.
The high school teams have now wrapped up their regular season and will turn their attention to the District meet on Saturday, October 31, in El Dorado Springs.
The middle school runners had less than a week of practice before stepping up to compete in the championship meet. Some discovered that they enjoyed the experience, while others joked that their long-distance running days might be over!
A Community Effort
Hosting a conference championship takes teamwork, and Macks Creek is grateful to everyone who helped make this event a success. A special thank-you goes to Ballparks National for allowing Macks Creek School to host the meet at its facility. The Ballparks National team went above and beyond, dedicating countless hours to blazing a brand-new 5K cross-country course through the fields and forest surrounding the complex. Their hard work created a unique and memorable course for the championship runners.

We also extend our appreciation to the Macks Creek junior class and their families for providing excellent concessions and helping make the day enjoyable for athletes, coaches, and spectators.
Thank you to Coach Snelling, the cross country teams, Ballparks National, the junior class and their families and everyone else who contributed their time and effort to this outstanding event.
The PCL Conference Cross Country Championships will return to Ballparks National next year, continuing this exciting partnership and providing another opportunity to showcase the talents of conference runners.
Congratulations to all the Pirates and Lady Pirates on their hard work, determination, and accomplishments. Great job, Pirates and Lady Pirates!
