Nurse Rachel Stubblefield organizes an annual Elementary Walking Club. This year Nurse Rachel shared the following about the program:
Our elementary students proudly participate in the Walking Club each year. The Walking Club is a month long run/walk program designed for students of all fitness levels from kindergarten through sixth grade. The purpose of the program is to increase student activity, improve learning readiness, build self-esteem, and encourage lifelong physical fitness habits. The students are rewarded for miles completed.
This year, students were challenged to walk or run a total of 300 miles. Not only did they meet that goal, but they far exceeded it by completing an incredible 530 miles combined!
To celebrate their accomplishment, our top walkers earned the exciting opportunity to “Human Sundae” a staff member of their choice. During Field Day, students had an absolute blast enjoying ice cream while decorating their chosen teachers and staff members with Cool Whip, chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and cherries. The laughter and smiles made for unforgettable memories for everyone involved.
A huge shout out goes to our PTO for helping make this event possible. Their continued support and generosity help create fun and meaningful experiences for our students each year!
Here are several photos from the Sundae building event:
Mrs. Willis had fun being made into a Sundae!
Mr. Glodt also had a blast and especially appreciated the students who found a hole in his poncho and made sure to squirt toppings though it!
Mr. Knox wants everyone to know that ice cream on your head is very cold!

Thanks to all the teachers who participated!
