Macks Creek FBLA officers attended the 1st Annual Fall Leadership Conference at Stoney Creek Lodge in Columbia this past Thursday and Friday. Officers Calvin Eidson, Kaylee Hicks, Madison Moos, Bailey Tindall, Leanna Tower, Addison Ratliff and Caleb Phillips spent two busy days learning more about the organization while enhancing their personal leadership skills. As shared on missourifbla.com, the student leaders learned from business and industry experts, networked with fellow members across the state, and dove into FBLA competitive events and programs.
Our students also heard from keynote speaker Devin Henderson who is described on missourifbla.com as "a multi-talented powerhouse: an experienced presenter and
seasoned performer, having logged thousands of performances as an award-winning comedian and magician and an in-demand keynote speaker." The site further shares "his unique combination of skills and storytelling and his hilarious and engaging interaction are what make him an audience favorite. His clients have included Pepsi, Hallmark, Cerner and hundreds more. His performances have been called, “unreal,” “unexpected,” and “unforgettable” and he delivers the ultimate keynote experience to inspire resilience."
The group also learned from leadership trainer Bryant Collier. Missourifbla.com describes him as "a renowned speaker who is guaranteed to inspire and challenge you to conquer the world! A Georgia native, Bryant travels the country empowering and encouraging leaders to never give up on their journey to success." The site further elaborates he "has dedicated himself to walking alongside others in the journey of life because he is convinced that with inspiration, affirmation, & mentorship, anyone can become a leader of tomorrow."
In addition to attending the conference the group checked out downtown Columbia, ate at a local favorite, Shakespeare's Pizza and enjoyed swimming at the Stoneycreek Pool. We look forward to learning more from these student leaders as they apply the new knowledge and skills they gleaned at this year’s Fall Leadership Conference!
