Macks Creek R-V School Releases COVID-19 Operating Plans for Fall Sports

Macks Creek, MO: The Macks Creek R-V School Board of Education, at their regularly scheduled meeting on August 20th, voted to approve the “Return to Play Plan” for athletics during the fall season of SY21. The district plan was created with respect to local, state, and national recommendations. In addition, the district worked to create a plan that does not limit the number of visitors in the facility during games while keeping all participants as safe as possible.  The plan specifically identifies the difference between indoor and outdoor sports for the fall season. For outdoor sports such as softball, baseball, and cross country, face coverings are required for players and coaches when in dugouts and social distancing is not possible. The district asks spectators to sit in family groups and socially distance themselves from others. Softball fans are encouraged to bring their own chairs, as bleacher seating is not available at Ballparks National where the Lady Pirates will play home games.   For indoor venues, everyone (players, coaches, spectators, etc.) is required to wear a face covering while in transition throughout our facility. Spectators can remove their cover when sitting socially distant in the gym with their family group. Temperature check stations will also be present for everyone entering the building.  Each device is mounted on a tripod and requires only a split second to produce an accurate reading. The district asks anyone not feeling well or exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms not to attend.  The Macks Creek R-V School district appreciates the patience of everyone regarding these measures. The district’s goal is to keep everyone safe and healthy while working to ensure all athletes will have the opportunity to continue to compete in the sports they enjoy throughout the school year. The district will also broadcast all home basketball games through a live feed. This broadcast will allow anyone who is not feeling well or is not comfortable attending, the opportunity to keep up with the Lady Pirates and Pirates this season.
