After 3 wins in a row and an opening round thumping of Walnut Grove, the Pirates took on top seed Weaubleau and were simply no match for the powerful offense of the Tigers.  A 30-8 first quarter was just about all that Weaubleau needed in a 72-31 win over the 6-8 Pirates.  Jose Cortez turned in one of his best performances with a season high 14 points while Hunter Cullen added 9.  "These boys love to play and I'm excited about what the future holds for these kids.  With their strong finish and a 8-4 record for the "B" team, I thought we had a fairly decent season, despite having as many as 5 players out with injuries," said Coach Duggan.

On the Girls side, opening round action saw more of the same as the last 9 games as the Lady Pirates opened up a commanding 31-4 halftime lead and put it on cruise control as the No. 2 seed knocked off the No. 7 seed Hermitage Hornets 51-9 in tournament play.  India Willis scored 25 points while pulling down 8 rebounds and 7 steals.  Brooklyn Duggan added to her assist total with 7 more, making it 82 on the season, while scoring 10 points and Emma Seaholm added 10 points and 7 boards.  Riley McCarty scored her first basket as a Lady Pirate which sent the crowd into a frenzy.

The Semi-Final game pitted the No. 2 Lady Pirates against No. 3 Weaubleau in a rematch of an early season game which saw Macks Creek lose their only game of the season.  This time the tables were turned around as a late 2nd quarter 3 followed by a 2 at the buzzer by Brooklyn Duggan pushed the lady pirates lead to 13-10 at halftime.  A box and one defense on leading scorer India Willis kept her in check for most of the game, but a quick 3rd quarter basket by Willis and another 3 by Duggan extended their lead to 9 going into the final frame.  A very patient offense and some great defense held off the lady Tigers and put Macks Creek into the title game with a 28-20 victory, avenging their only loss on the season.  Free throw shooting down the stretch sealed the victory as Willis and Duggan hit 7 of 8 free throws late in the game.  Brooklyn Duggan led all scorers with a season high 14 points, India Willis added 6 with 9 rebounds and Ashlee Klingslick also had 6.  The Lady Pirates' record stands at 13-1 on the season and will play top seed Walnut Grove on Thursday at 6:30 for the Championship.  The game will be played at Hermitage High School.
