The Lady Pirates opened the season with a big victory on the road at perineal power Walnut Grove and came away with a 44-27 victory. The Lady Pirates were locked in a fierce battle at half time leading by a slim margin at 20-19. An 11-0 run to start the second half paved the way to victory for the young squad. India Willis was a force inside as she led all scorers with 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals. Emma Seaholm added 4 points, pulled down 8 rebounds and had 2 blocked shots.  Ashlee Klinksick added 4 points, 2 steals and 2 assists.  Brooklyn Duggan chipped in 11 points, 7 assists and 5 steals, making her debut as a Lady Pirate. Congrats to the Lady Pirates on a huge win.

The Pirates also opened the season with a win as they put away the Tigers early, jumping out to a 27-3 halftime lead and cruising to a 42-10 win. The big men inside were too much as Mason Stoner led the way with 11 points, Hunter Cullen had 8 and Caiden Ramirez added 6.  Jose Cortez – 6, Dakota Willis - 4, Kyler Gabriel – 3, Tagen Seaton – 2, and Colton Eidson – 2 rounded out the scoring.  The Pirates 7th grade team also cruised to victory with a 14-0 win in 2 quarters of play.  Sean Green led the squad with 8 points, while teammates Aidan Bowman, Nick Hicks and Colton Eidson each had 2.
