MACKS CREEK - The Pirates saw their modest two game winning streak snapped on Tuesday night, falling to the visiting Richland Bears 14 - 1 in five innings.

Richland plated a single tally in the top of the first and never looked back. They plated four in the second, two each in the third and fourth, and then five more in the top of the fifth.

Macks Creek plated their single tally in the bottom of the fifth to avoid the shutout. Grant English walked with two outs. On a successful steal attempt, the pickoff throw sailed into center and was also misplayed by the centerfielder. Grant was able to advance home to score the only run for the Pirates.

Dakota Willis (1-3) started and took the loss. He worked the first four innings and allowed 12 runs, five earned, on nine hits while striking out five and hitting one batter. Austin Brown worked an inning and allowed two unearned runs on two hits while striking out two.

Offensively, Macks Creek was held to a single hit on the night. Grant English singled in the bottom of the first. He also walked and scored the lone Pirate run. Trever Smith, Dakota Willis, and Preston Borgmeyer each walked.

The Pirates fall to 5-9 with the loss. They travel to Crocker on Thursday before returning home against the Halfway Cardinals on Friday.
