Pauline cheeinrg on students in January 2015

Macks Creek School is dedicating this evening’s Homecoming to the memory of Pauline Eidson. Pauline was born September 21, 1929. As a girl she attended school at Hazel Valley Schoolhouse before coming to Macks Creek School, where she attended until 1944.

Somewhere around 2010, Pauline began attending Macks Creek Lady Pirate and Pirate Home Basketball games.  In fact, she attended every single home game up until December of this season! She also was a regular at Macks Creek Biddyball, Softball and Baseball games.  Pauline always arrived right at 4:30 to make sure she got a seat in the front row.  Pauline enjoyed drinking coffee and cheering for the Pirates.  Anyone working the concession stand knew to brew a pot and keep it hot for Pauline to get refills throughout the evening.  She immensely enjoyed it when basketball players and fans would visit with her in between games. It was a toss-up if she would say “hello sweetheart” or smile and hold up her fist as greeting when someone said hello!

It was our privilege to sing her Happy Birthday, celebrating she was our oldest fan, this past September during the junior high season.  Pauline passed away on December 23, 2020.  Pauline was loved by our entire school community and we will all miss her faithful encouragement of our athletes.
