HUMANSVILLE - Macks Creek visited Humansville on Thursday after playing host to them on Tuesday and left with a 10-0 defeat in five innings.

Humansville put four runs on in the first and never looked back. They plated two in the third, one in the fourth and then pushed around three in the fifth to end the game via the run-rule.

Macks Creek worked out of a few jams in the third and fourth. After relieving starter Ethan English with the bases loaded and one out in the third, Dakota Willis allowed two runs to score, one on a single and one on an RBI-groundout to second before taking a come-backer of his leg. The ball scooted away and he was able to complete the play to first for the third out. In the fourth the first two baserunners reached before a strikeout for out number one. A single and a walk loaded the bases. Willis then snagged a line drive hit back to him and threw to second to complete the double play, ending the threat with only one run crossing the plate.

Baserunners for Macks Creek were minimal on the night. The Pirates put their first runner on in the second when Ethan English reached on an error. In the third inning Isaiah Schmidt reached but was erased trying to advance on a wild pitch and Keith Edelman walked. The fourth saw Trever Smith walk, move to second on an error and to third on strikeout and a wild pitch to Tyler Newcomb with two outs. The last runner to reach was Dakota Willis who walked in the fifth and moved to second on a wild pitch.

Offensively the Pirates were held hitless at the plate. Keith Edelman, Trever Smith, Isaiah Schmidt, and Dakota Willis all walked. Ethan English reached on an error and Tyler Newcomb reached on a strikeout and throwing error.

Ethan English (0-2) started and took the loss for the Pirates. He worked the first two-and-a-third innings, allowing six runs, five earned, on six hits while striking out three and walking three. Dakota Willis relieved and worked two-plus innings, allowing four runs on seven hits while striking out one and walking two.

"Offensively we really didn't get anything going and we played pretty decent defensively behind our pitchers," commented Coach Trusty, "Ethan and Dakota threw the ball around the plate and Humansville was able to put the ball in play where we weren't."

Macks Creek falls to 0-13. They will play their final contest tomorrow (Friday) when they travel to Crocker to take on the Lions. Game time is slated for 5:00.
