WEAUBLEAU - Macks Creek took to the road on Tuesday night, traveling down Highway 54 to Weaubleau. The hosts handed the Pirates a 15-0, four-inning setback.

Weaubleau plated two in the bottom of the first, one in the third, and then pushed across 12 in the third for the final margin.

Macks Creek put runners at the first and second in the top of the first. Keith Edelman and Trever Smith drew back-to-back walks, but then back-to-back strikeouts ended the frame. Austin Brown reached base on a walk in the second but was picked off at first. Tanner Smith singled in the fourth but was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double.

"Offensively we are still struggling, defensively we played better, and our pitching started well but struggled a bit in the fourth," said Macks Creek Coach Jason Trusty.

Each team was using a committee-approach with their pitching staff with a tournament coming later this week. Tanner Smith (0-3) started and worked the first two innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits while striking out two and walking one. Grant English worked one inning and worked out of a bases loaded jam, surrendering just one unearned run. He also struck out three and walked one. Dakota Willis worked one-third of an inning, allowing eight runs, three earned, on three hits while walking three and hitting one. Keith Edelman worked in the fourth, allowing four runs while walking four and hitting one. Ethan English worked one-third of an inning and allowed one hit.

Offensively the Pirates collected one hit, a single off the bat of Tanner Smith. Keith Edelman, Trever Smith, and Austin Brown all walked for the other baserunners.

Macks Creek falls to 0-6. They will compete in the Conway Fall Classic this Thursday and Saturday. They take on Hartville (3:00) and Dora (5:15) for pool play at Hartville on Thursday. Pending those results will determine what time they play on Saturday.

The Pirates JV fell 8-1 to the Weaubleau JV in the night cap.

Tyler Newcomb and Dakota Willis each singled for the JV Pirates. John Perez and Austin Brown each walked and Isaiah Schmidt collected an RBI when he was hit-by-a-pitch with the bases loaded.

Ethan English started and worked an inning of scoreless ball, walking one batter. Trever Smith worked an inning-and-a-third, allowing five runs, one earned, while walking three and striking out four. Isaiah Schmidt worked in the third inning, allowing three runs while walking five and hitting one.

The JV Pirates are now 0-5.
